My Experience
PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
EXPERIENCE
Currently the Manager of Partner Programs at the Roux Institute, I manage the continuing education courses for partner companies. Previously I managed the noncredit courses within the marketing program at New York University. Before working in higher education, I oversaw a study abroad program for high school students that were coming to the United States to study, and prior to that I taught English language learners abroad.

WORK SETTING
The learners that I support work full time and are taking a course because they would like to upskill, apply new concepts at work and expand their job opportunities. The faculty I support are full-time professionals teaching as a way to share their skills with their community and remain active in their profession. It is my role to provide the tools, resources and connections that enable both groups to thrive. My ability to do so relies on my project management skills and my ability to collaborate with colleagues across the institute and University.

BACKGROUND
At NYU I completed a certificate in learning design, which greatly improved the quality of support that I provided faculty. It also sparked my curiosity and led me to this master’s degree program. I am always searching for ways to bring more hands-on learning into the classroom. The majority of my learners spend their whole day at a desk, experiential learning provides the spark to make what would be yet another Zoom meeting into an event that is highly anticipated all week.

PROFESSIONAL IDENTITY
I try to help build a sense of community in my workplace, because I believe that we should be able to share our passions at work and celebrate our differences with our colleagues. Sustainability is very important to me, and so I often try to incorporate it into my work life in some way. I helped start the Roux Sustainability Group, as well as the NYU Green Committee to promote sustainable practices on campus and to celebrate eco friendly accomplishments in personal lives.
