GOALS

Academic, Personal, and Professional Aspirations

DEFINING MY PATHWAY

My academic goal is to finish this master’s program in two years. I would like to have a learning design portfolio and the related skills that I can use to support my professional and personal goals as soon as possible.

Professionally my goal is to start a department of learning design at the Roux Institute as a means to further support Mainers in their upskilling journeys, as well as to provide faculty the tools that they need to be successful.

Personally, my aspiration is to teach my first beer education class in Portland before spring 2023, and to continue building out my Hops & Brains website and resources.

APPLICATION & DEVELOPMENT

My professional short-term goals that I will be able to meet through the completion of courses within this degree program are:

  • Identify at least 3 ways that I could use Agile or Waterfall in my current position

  • Incorporate at least 3 ways that new technologies can build upon learning design best practices and support inclusivity into faculty support materials

  • Develop at least three design assets/enablement resources for a portfolio of work (ex: self-guided job aids, manager guides, virtual training sessions, facilitator guide)

  • Relate decisions and requests (ex: related to course design or changes in course materials) back to data
